Stephanie + Jon : Pinehurst, NC

What a privilege it was for us to film the wedding of these two incredibly charming people! We just love the story of how they met. Stephanie was in college and Jon was renting his house to one of her best friends. Even though they only saw each other occasionally while Jon was out mowing the lawn, they eventually started dating and 8 years later, they were engaged! As a couple, they are kind, hardworking, loving, and share a great sense of humor. They also share a love for dogs and we were so happy that they included Teddy, their most adorable golden retriever, in their wedding!

The weekend began at the Country Club of North Carolina in Pinehurst, where Stephanie and Jon met with family and friends for dinner, toasts and dancing in celebration for the big day ahead. We loved listening to all the sweet memories and hilarious stories that were shared and we immediately felt the close connection that Stephanie and Jon have to all their family and friends.

On the wedding day, we met up with Jon first at his parents’ house. After enjoying a game of cornhole with the groomsmen in the backyard, he went inside to get dressed in the most dashing suit. Later, we filmed him reading a letter from Stephanie and opening her gift to him, which was a stunning set of custom engraved cufflinks. Next, we joined Stephanie at her house where she and her bridesmaids were enjoying some champagne and conversation. Teddy and her father’s dog Bentley lovingly watched as the girls took pictures outside, and then Stephanie surprised her parents with a heartfelt gift - handkerchiefs embroidered with a special message for each of them. Such a tender moment for the bride to share with her mother and father in honor of their role in her life! Then as everyone went inside to get dressed, Stephanie gave her father a gift from Jon, a silver mint coin in the shape of a quarter. Afterwards, she opened Jon’s gift to her, which was a beautiful pendant necklace featuring her new initials. Then it came time for Stephanie to put on her dress, and everyone agreed she was the loveliest bride they had ever seen!

The ceremony was held at Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Southern Pines. With its tall ceilings and grand pipe organ, it was the perfect setting for family and friends to gather together to watch Stephanie and Jon exchange their vows. There were so many emotional moments throughout the ceremony, including Jon’s reaction when he saw his bride for the first time that day, Stephanie’s father lifting her veil before giving her away, the pastor’s Scripture-centered sermon, and the soloist singing during the lighting of the unity candle. After sharing their first kiss as a married couple, Stephanie and Jon dug up a bottle of bourbon they had buried near the church and then boarded the trolley that would take them to the last stop of the day: the legendary Pinehurst Country Club.

A bagpiper played as guests made their way to cocktail hour, where they enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, fine wine and a specialty bourbon drink named after Teddy! Then when it was time for the reception to begin, everyone headed to the Outlook Ballroom. Offering breathtaking views of Pinehurst No. 2, one of the world’s most celebrated golf courses and the centerpiece of the country club, it was a magnificent place for Stephanie and Jon to host their party! After making their grand entrance and having an elegant first dance, Stephanie and Jon joined their guests for dinner and sunset views looking out on the veranda. What followed was a night full of laughter, dancing (including an impromptu game of limbo!), and a totally energetic performance by the always-amazing Liquid Pleasure. This group really knows how to get the party started and the crowd had a ball dancing and singing on stage with them. Complete with glow sticks and inflatable instruments to rock the night away, it was one of the most glamorous and fun wedding receptions we have ever been to!

Thank you Stephanie and Jon for letting us be a part of your unforgettable wedding day! We loved every moment spent with you and your family, and wish you many, many years of happiness as you continue to grow in your love for one another. Congratulations!
